Before fitting fascia boards, the fixed deck boards must be trimmed to an even finish using a straight-edge and a circular saw.
The fascia has to be fixed to the joists using Silvadec® special composite screws, 5x50 mm (sold separately). Please allow a 5 mm gap at the ends in their length. Do not use nails.
Fascia board finish: perpendicular to deck boards
To conceal the joist lengthwise (perpendicular to the deck boards), screw the fascia board to the joist, leaving a gap of 5 mm between the deck boards and fascia.
Screwing the fascia in place
Pre-drill the fascia boards with a 3.5 mm bit, then insert screws directly every 40 cm.
Fascia board finish: parallel to deck boards
To conceal the joist crosswise (parallel to the deck boards), pre-drill the fascia boards with a 3.5 mm bit, then screw the fascia board to the joist, inserting one screw every 40 cm.
