In March 2025, Silvadec launched, in test phase, Heuliad Environnement, its new plastic recycling unit in Elven (Brittany); A project developed in partnership with Cairn Tri, a Nantes-based company specializing in waste trading. This strategic facility, which already supplies Silvadec and other local companies during its initial phase, will be able to fully meet from June onwards the supply needs of European manufacturers seeking high-quality recycled plastics.
A response to European supply challenges
A European pioneer in sustainable composite materials for over 20 years, Silvadec already incorporates 2/3 of PEFC-certified wood flour produced locally in Morbihan into its products. With Heuliad Environnement, the company takes a decisive step by directly integrating polymer recycling into its industrial process, thus strengthening its independence from major petrochemical companies.
An optimized and sustainable value chain
This initiative transforms post-consumer plastics into industrial-grade raw materials, reducing the consumption of virgin resources while ensuring a stable supply. Silvadec thus positions itself as a strategic partner for companies wishing to secure their supply chain and achieve their environmental objectives.
Technological performance and environmental responsibility
Thanks to optimized sorting, washing and extrusion processes, Heuliad Environnement produces plastic granules with controlled mechanical properties, suitable for demanding industrial applications. This project is part of a B2B circular economy strategy, strengthening the Breton industrial ecosystem while meeting new European regulations.
During the testing phase, the plant already supplies Silvadec and other local companies, and from June, it will be fully integrated into the supply chain of manufacturers seeking quality recycled materials.
With Heuliad Environnement, Silvadec consolidates its position as a European leader in composite materials while offering a concrete solution to the supply challenges of manufacturers committed to the circular economy.
Together, let's build a sustainable and resilient industrial value chain!
