Choosing the Ideal Decking for Your Pool Surround: A Decisive Choice

To fully enhance your pool area, choosing the right decking material for your pool surround is crucial. This material will determine not only the aesthetic of your outdoor space but also its comfort and durability. Among the many options available on the market, Silvadec stands out as the ideal choice to combine beauty, performance, and peace of mind.

Essential Technical Criteria for a Successful Pool Surround

Before choosing a material, several technical characteristics must be considered:

  • Safety: slip resistance, especially in wet environments
  • Comfort: splinter-free for walking barefoot
  • Thermal resistance: ability to not overheat under the sun
  • Maintenance: ease of cleaning and upkeep
  • Aesthetics: enhancing your garden and surroundings
  • Harmony: integration with your home and existing landscaping
  • Durability: resistance to water, chlorine, and salt

The Silvadec Solution: Next-Generation Composite Wood

European leader in composite wood for over 20 years, Silvadec offers a superior alternative that combines the advantages of various materials while eliminating their major drawbacks.

🌟 Splinter-free for optimal barefoot comfort

Unlike natural wood, Silvadec composite wood offers a perfectly smooth and safe surface. Say goodbye to the annoyance of splinters that can ruin your relaxing moments by the pool! You can walk barefoot with complete peace of mind on your pool deck.

🌡️ Controlled temperature, comparable to exotic wood

Contrary to popular belief, Silvadec decking boards have temperatures similar to those of exotic wood boards when exposed to the sun. Their high wood content allows them to heat up less than other composite materials on the market. For even more comfort, choose our light-colored shades that absorb less heat.

🧹 Minimal maintenance, no chemical treatments required

Unlike natural wood which requires regular treatments, Silvadec composite boards need no special protection. A simple periodic cleaning (recommended in spring and autumn) with soapy water is enough to maintain the appearance and quality of your deck. Household stains naturally fade with exposure to UV rays and weather.

🏊‍♂️ Excellent certified slip resistance

Safety is paramount around a pool. Our boards have been rigorously tested according to international standards (DIN 51130, DIN 51097, and NF P 05 011) and achieved excellent slip resistance results, both barefoot and with shoes. Atmosphère decking boards even received the highest possible rating (R13) and provide exceptional grip, even when wet.

🧪 Resistant to pool treatment chemicals

Unlike some materials that can deteriorate upon contact with chemicals, our decks resist chlorine, salt, and general pool maintenance products. This resistance ensures the longevity of your investment in a particularly demanding environment.

Pool Coping: An Essential Element

Are you planning to create a composite pool deck? As you can read in our installation guidelines, it is recommended to install a suitable pool coping. It will effectively protect your composite boards from direct contact with water and prevent premature deterioration, while providing an aesthetic finish between your pool and terrace. For pool edges, we advise against fixing composite wood profiles (decking boards, skirts, corner trims, or finishing boards) right at the water's edge. Always opt for coping specifically designed for this purpose.
