As part of a full-transparency approach on our products, we decided to establish an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) in 2019.
What does the Declaration consist of?
- ✓ The products’ Life Cycle Analysis, plus health-related information so that the environmental and health performance of a building can be evaluated and fed into its eco-friendly design
- ✓ Integrates various criteria: impact on global warming, use of renewable primary energy, net fresh water use, air pollution, water pollution...
- ✓ Communicates the results in a format common to all construction products, thereby enabling comparison
- ✓ Complies with standards EN ISO 14025, EN 15804+A1 and its national supplement NF EN 15804/CN
Conducted by EVEA (French LCA specialist company) and checked and validated by the FCBA institute, the EPD serves to demonstrate our products’ performance: Silvadec® decking performs 4 times better than stoneware and up to 5 times better than other reference wood composites.
